Game Schedule

VYI Cheer will make the Cheer Schedule as soon as we receive the Football Schedule.  It is not unusual to not have a schedule assigned until after school starts. The same is true of the practice schedule.

The first football games of the season will take place on Saturday, September 17, 2016.  Games take place on Saturdays.  

VYI Cheer's squads cover all home games at Waters Field. Additionally, our squads might cheer at Oakton, Madison, Marshall, or Fairfax High Schools. Our Senior Squad sometimes travels to away games when no home game is scheduled.

Football Games

Football games are usually 1 to 1 1/2 hours in length.  They consist of four 15‑minute quarters with a 5 - 10 minute halftime. Games are played at home and away.  Every effort is made to schedule the Cheer Squads for as many home games as possible. 

Cheerleaders will cheer on the sidelines during the games and perform at halftime.
